Out Story

Well hello there, I am Logan. The sole employee of Shadow Pine Woodworks! Here is the story of SPWW:

After a decade-long career in chemistry, I transitioned to the world of woodworking in the summer of 2021. Under the branches of a towering pine tree above my garage workshop, "In the Shadow of the Pine"—shortened to Shadow Pine—was born.

I've been dabbling in woodworking since 2013, starting out by crafting furniture and simple wooden art pieces to cozy up my home. But when the opportunity arose to close the chapter on chemistry and dive headfirst into a more artistic endeavor, I leaped without hesitation, and haven't looked back since.

Nature, especially the rugged beauty of Tahoe's mountains, has always been my muse. Whether I'm backpacking through forest trails, making turns on my skis (both downhill and uphill), or simply soaking in the alpine air, the outdoors fuels my creativity. My designs are a direct reflection of that—each piece infused with the spirit of the landscapes I love.

In 2022, I welcomed a laser into my workshop family. This not only opened up entirely new artistic avenues but also amped up what I could bring to life. Over the years, I've created over 150 unique products. Some of the fan favorites include my Bathymetric Lake Maps that capture the depths of beloved waters, Disc Golf storage racks for fellow enthusiasts, layered animal artworks that bring wildlife to life, and mountain-inspired pieces that echo the peaks themselves.

Every creation is more than just wood and craftsmanship; it's a story—of where I've been, what inspires me, and the endless possibilities of where I'm headed. I'm stoked to share this journey with you all and can't wait to see where the trail leads next.
